BOMBANANA Manual

BOMBANANA's manual sits inside a three-player information chain. A correct table lookup still fails when orientation, clue order, or confirmation is lost, so the squad needs a repeatable protocol before the timer starts.

Why communication is the puzzle

The official game structure gives each monkey a different limitation. The Deaf Monkey sees the bomb and can speak but cannot hear. The Mute Monkey can read the manual but cannot speak. The Blind Monkey can hear and operate the bomb but cannot see it. No single player can observe, interpret, and execute alone.

That design makes every solve a chain: describe raw state, translate it through the manual, confirm the result, then act. Mixing those stages creates confident mistakes because the operator cannot independently check the visual clue.

The information triangle

SEES / SPEAKSDeaf Monkey

Describes the bomb and watches the Mute Monkey.

READS / GESTURESMute Monkey

Finds the manual rule and signals the result.

HEARS / TOUCHESBlind Monkey

Confirms the instruction and operates the bomb.

Pre-run callout protocol

  1. Lock orientation.

“Left” means panel-left for the whole run.

  2. Number positions.

Read rows top-to-bottom and items left-to-right.

  3. Separate observation from action.

    Say “I see…” before anyone says “do…”.

  4. Require confirmation.

The operator repeats the exact action before touching the panel.

  5. Assign CHAOS ownership.

One person watches the interruption until it is explicitly handed off.

Universal callout template

MODULE → POSITION → RAW STATE → MANUAL RESULT → CONFIRM → ACTION“Morse, top-right. Three sockets. Dot-dash groups sent. Result 3-7-2. Confirm 3-7-2. Enter.”
